Strangely Magic ~ Faux or PU Leather
What is the difference between faux leather and PU leather?
Faux leather or Polyurethane (PU), is a man-made material
which represents the look and feel of genuine leather.
To tell the difference, you look at the back of the
material; if you see a woven fabric
backing, it's PU (or vinyl). Some call
PU "synthetic leather"
Faux leather is absolutely waterproof and does not
require the application of waterproofing sprays. The main reason behind this is
that, faux leather is made from Polyurethane (PU) which has similar properties
like that of plastic. So it does not absorb water at all.
Spills and stains should be cleaned up as soon as
they appear. Ordinary dirt, smudges and water-soluble stains such as coffee,
tea, juice, soft drinks, milk, beer, and wine can be removed with mild soap and
water. Use a clean cloth or soft sponge to gently wipe the stain with soapy
water.
