BATH SALTS

A crystalline substance that is dissolved in bathwater to soften or perfume it, with mood-altering and stimulant properties, typically in the form of crystals.  Bath salts have a cleaning action that softens calloused skin and aids in exfoliation (cleaning off dead skin cells).

Some confusion may arise for bathers after their first experience in a bath with soft water. Soap does not lather well with hard water and can leave a sticky feeling. Soft water lathers better than hard water but feels slippery for a longer time during rinsing of soap, even though the soap is coming off faster, because the soap remains soluble.

High concentrations of salts increase the density of the water and increase buoyancy, which makes the body feel lighter in the bath.  Researchers have also studied the use in treating arthritis.

BATH BOMBS (FIZZIES)
Bath fizzies are products designed to effervesce in bathwater. Bath fizzies are a form of bath salts in that the products of use include a salt solution in addition to the carbon dioxide bubbles which are a definitive feature. Ingredients include products that promote soft soothing skin.







GLYCERIN SOAP


Glycerin soaps are soaps that contain glycerin, a component of fat or oil. They are recognizably different from other soaps because they are translucent. The clarity is due to the alignment of the soap molecules.

Humectant (a substance used to keep things moist) including glycerin, lecithin, and propylene glycol, draw water into the outer layer of skin.  This helps the dead skin cells to fall off and helps the skin keep in more water, leaving the skin feeling smoother and softer.
